Description or summary of the audiobook: Following on from the publisher's very successful Polish Wings books, this new series covers aircraft in French service over the years. This first volume tells the story of the Latecoere 290 and 298 aircraft. These were bomber floatplanes produced in France during the 1930s. The original 290 was a conventional high-wing, strut-braced monoplane that carried a single torpedo externally under the fuselage. Later variants of the plane were powered by alternative engine units. The acquisition and operation of these aircraft in the Aeronavale (French Navy's Fleet Air Arm) is told in detail, and illustrated by many previously unpublished contemporary photographs.'
