The guide then describes Fourteen Tours of Scotland for the traveller, highlighting notable features the travellers may encounter. In the preface to the guide it states that `the author has contended himself with giving a plain and intelligible account of the scenery most worthy of the attention of strangers ` As well as the in-depth tours there are 21 detailed Itineraries and an index. There are also charts and scenic views from around Scotland at the time.
